Full-time Application Support Engineer (m/f)

GuestCentric is looking for an Application Support Engineer that can provide Level 3 tech support on the application.

We need someone with working knowledge of web apps and services, and that likes to interact with support, customers and partners that connect via API. Someone that likes to solve problems and is excellent at troubleshooting, preferrably with working knowledge of Linux, Apache, PHP and MySQL.

Job role:

  • Work closely with Support Level 2 and Quality Assurance to assist and lead analysis of escalated applications issues
  • Troubleshooting: Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it
  • Complex Problem Solving: Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
  • Systems Evaluation: Identifying measures or indicators of system performance and the actions needed to improve or correct performance, relative to the goals of the system.
  • Critical Thinking: Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
  • Future-proofing: Understanding the implications of new information/application development for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making
  • Any ad hoc duties as required and are specific to the roles.

Experience needed:

  • Experienced and proven 3rd line support in software or Internet applications
  • Minimum (3) years of Information Technology experience
  • Minimum (1) year experience in Application Administration

Skills needed:

  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Able to work under pressure and reach targets
  • Good customer facing skills, including ability to control interactions with customers using persuasion and influencing skills
  • Committed approach to team work
  • Resilient under pressure and able to quickly adapt to unforeseen work demands
  • Self-motivated and willing to learn new skills
